Lake George Beaches
Looking to soak up the rays while the kids play in the water? Go
to Shepard’s Park, located in the heart of the Village,
or Million Dollar Beach located on
Route 9L. Both destinations offer
plenty of sandy beach to bask in the sun or
areas to build sandcastles
with your children. The sandy beaches are also just minutes from our Lake George Resort!
For even more
kid-friendly activities, venture over to Usher’s Park – just
past the Million Dollar Beach. This beach offers a playground
area ideal for children, tennis and basketball courts, as well as
plentiful picnic tables, and pavilions - perfect for family outings!
Ready
to go swimming? Take a dive at Gurney Lane,
an outdoor recreation center that
offers a very
large outdoor pool with diving boards, children’s play area,
cookout facilities, and bath house. Gurney Lane is located in
Queensbury, NY, only 15 minutes from our Lake George Resort.
Don’t forget you can enjoy a
indoor and outdoor pools, heated Jacuzzi,
kid’s playgrounds, and other fun
activities right on our landscaped grounds!
Sailing or Boating on the Lake
Bask in the sun as the breeze brushes your
hair - take sail on Lake George! Grab
a quick bite from
the
Breakfast Wagon
at our resort, and then rent a sailboat
for the afternoon. For more speed, rent a power boat
and take the whole family on a
fun-filled boating excursion. No
matter what type of boat you are looking for, Lake George has
many marinas and boating centers that offer
daily rentals.
Lake George is also known for its boat cruises. Hop aboard a
quaint paddle-wheeler or a large steamboat cruise
ship and enjoy an exciting trip around the lake.

Fun Water Parks
Our private Lake George Resort is close to two popular water parks –
Great Escape’s Splashwater Kingdom and Water Slide World.
Discover over 35 slides and attractions, including a wave pool
and kiddy center at Water Slide World, just minutes from Colonel
Williams. Travel a couple of minutes in the opposite direction and
enjoy a day of fun at Splashwater Kingdom, Great Escape’s large
outdoor water park! From a lazy river to interactive water
playgrounds, you and your family will no doubt have a blast at
this park.
Whitewater Rafting
Take to the rapids on an adventurous whitewater rafting trip on
the Sacandaga or Hudson River. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of
the majestic Adirondack Mountains while dipping around the rivers’
many twist
and turns! This will be a great family experience everyone will
cherish. Most guided tours are only a short drive from
our relaxing Lake George Resort.
Fishing
Love to fish? From the peaceful solitude of waiting for
a fish to bite, to the exuberant moment
you feel a tug on the line, fishing is a great way to spend a
peaceful afternoon on your Lake George
vacation. Rent a fishing boat, or take a
guided charter. Some fish you may find in
the lake are cold water lake trout, landlocked salmon
and
rainbow trout, as well as warm water largemouth bass, smallmouth
bass and yellow perch.
Waterfalls, Gorges, Chasms and More!
Discover the stunning beauty of the Adirondacks by traveling to
Ausable Chasm, about an hour and a half from Colonel Williams
Resort. Enjoy walking, tubing or rafting throughout the chasm’s
gorges, waterfalls and caves and take in the breathtaking beauty
laid out in front of you.
